Effects of resins on mechanical performance of polymer concrete

Cement manufacturing is currently responsible for one of the highest levels carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and energy consumption in construction industry. Thus, use sustainable binder materials instead cement has become a worldwide issue. Previous studies have shown that polymers are reliable alternative to construction, while polymer concretes (PCs) seen as biggest conventional long term. In this study, main objective investigate effects resins, which used components concrete, on mechanical properties PCs. To achieve this, ten different orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resins (OUPR) commonly industry considered, fresh concrete tests hardened performed deck plates prepared with these resins.
